Abstract: The biology of Neochrysocharis okazakii Kamijo, one of the most import ant parasites of the vegetable leafminer, Liriomyza sativae Blanchard in Fuz hou, was studied. The results showed: (1) honey supply could significantly prolo ng survival time of the adult parasites; (2) developmental rates of each stage of N. okazakii were linearly correlated to temperature between 20℃ to 33℃. The threshold temperature and the effective accumulated temperature for the who le generation was estimated to be 81℃ and 1887 daydegrees respectiely. Th e lifespan of the parasite shortened as temperature went up, and its intri nsic rate of natural increase (rm) became greater with I ncreasing of temperature.
