Acta Entomologica Sinica (Monthly, about 110 pp. for each issue), launched in Sept. 1950, is a peer-reviewed Chinese and English bilingual journal, co-sponsored by the Institute of Zoology, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Entomological Society of China. It publishes original papers as well as review articles and short communications that cover all aspects of entomological sciences. It is indexed and abstracted in Abstracts of Entomology, Abstract Journal, Chemical Abstracts, CAB Database, ISPI Pest Directory Database, Entomological Abstracts and Zoological Records. Over fifty years, some of the most well-known achievements in entomological sciences in China, such as the physiological and ecological mechanisms related to the occurrence and integrated control of the Oriental migratory locust Locusta migratoria manilensis (Meyen), the migrations of the brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens Stal, and the artificial diet and rearing of Trichogramma spp., were first reported through this journal and got well cited. The most influential scholars in various fields of entomological research in China and abroad make up the present editorial board.
Aims and Scope
The aims of the Acta Entomologica Sinica are to report the most recent achievements and advances in entomological sciences, and to promote academic exchanges among entomological researchers in China and abroad. Currently, original research papers are organized in four regular subsections, i.e., Physiology and Biochemistry, Toxicology and Resistance, Ecology and Pest Management, and Evolution and Systematics, and irregular subsections as necessary, such as Pathology and Medical Insects, for each issue.
