Abstract: This paper describes a new species and a new record of the genus Phaonia R. D. from China. P.lamellicauda sp.nov. is subordinate to the P.oxystoma group. The main characters of the group are as follows:vibrissal angle before the level of profrons; acr strong, post dc 3, scutellum without any yell ow coloration, notopleura, prosternum and beret bare; f₂,f₃ and tibiae yellow, t_{2 without pv bristle, t3} without apical pv bristle . The type specimen is deposited in Shenyang Normal College.
