Abstract: About 500 bp DNA fragment is amplified by PCR with the degenerated primers designed according to the mariner sequence of Drosophila mauritiana, the genomic DNA of either Sogatella furcifera or Laodelphax striatellus as the template. Sequence analysis shows that the fragment similarity of both the DNA to that of D. mauritiana is 71.3%, and the similarity of the amino acid is 69.5% and 72% respectively. This indicates that the mariner element may exist in S. furcifera and L. striatellus.
