Abstract: This paper describes a new species and a new record of the genus Phaonia R.D. from China. P. lamellicauda sp. nov. is subordinate to the P.oxystomagroup. The main characters of the group are as follows: vibrissal angle before the level of profrons; acr strong, post dc 3, scutellum without any yell ow coloration, notopleura, prosternum and beret bare; f₂, f₃ and tibiae yellow, t_{2 ^{without pv bristle, t}3} without apical pv bristle . The type specimen is deposited in Shenyang Normal College.
